Shoe Cares?

I've never been a shoe girl. Ever. Not that I don't appreciate a nice-looking pair of shoes, it's just that I'd rather spend my money on books or doing fun stuff with my family or going out to dinner with my honey.

I don't really understand those ladies who have dozens upon dozens of shoes in their closets. Do you ever really wear them all? Don't your feet hurt? I'm all about comfort. Most of my shoes are neutrals - browns, blacks, grays - because they go with everything and I don't have to waste precious time in the mornings figuring out which pair to wear.

I'm also all about comfort. My giant clown feet need their room to breathe. I can't stuff my feet into those 3 inch stilettos. It'd be like one of the step-sisters from Cinderella trying to cram her foot into the glass slipper. Ain't gonna happen.

Now, I will admit that I have been suckered in by a few cute pairs of leopard print shoes. I have 2 pairs of flats and a pair of boots in leopard print. But other than that, I'm a pretty boring shoe person. They are just not that high up on my list of priorities.

What about you? Are you a shoe guru?

  1. I love shoes but I am far from a guru. Haha if only I had an unlimited budget. :)

  2. Haha, true, budget definitely plays into it, too! :)

  3. I totally relate to everything here, I am SO not a shoe girl. The way I look at it is this: some might say that stilettos and heels are sexier (and no argument there, they can be very attractive!) but I feel way sexier when I'm comfortable, not when I'm walking like an awkward gazelle with a leg injury :P

Plus, there's no wrong way to be a woman and embrace femininity. It can mean totally different things to different people and if high heels aren't part of that picture for some women, that's totally okay!

  4. I spend a lot of time looking at shoes when I'm looking at buying a pair, but I'm not a shoe guru either. Even when I start to accumulate them, I turn to the same few pairs over and over again. :)

  5. Comfort is way more important. What's the use of sexy heels if my feet are blistered (thanks to my giant feet) and I can't walk.

  6. Yep. I'm a TOTAL shoe girl! Right now I'd say I have at least 26-34 pair in the closet (I'm too lazy to go count). I have closed toe, peep toe, open toe. I have square toe, round toe, pointy toe. I have wedges, heels, kitten heels, flats. I have boots, sneakers, sandals. I have "work shoes" and "commute shoes" and "weekend shoes" and "date night" shoes. I even have "bedroom shoes" which are...ahem. I'll wear "commute shoes" to work, change to "work shoes", then change back to "commute shoes" then change to either "weekend shoes" or "date night" shoes if we are going out that night. I have ever color and pattern. I'll sacrifice clothes and food for shoes. #SorryNotSorry ;-)

  7. I am a certified shoeaholic and I'm one of those who has a wall of shoes. For the most part, I do wear most of them but there are a few that are only for special occasions. I've been known to find a pair of shoes and then build an outfit around them because I just had to have them. My career has changed so I don't wear heels as much as I used to but I still wear them when I can. One pair of shoes can change your life.

  8. I've never really been a shoe person, either. I mean, I have quite a few pairs of shoes (not a lot by any means, but what I consider quite a few). But, I typically wear the same shoes over and over. Like, I wore the same pair of boots almost all winter. :)

  9. Same here. I love comfort over style. I have a few more shoes, but that's because I usually get them on a sale. That way I have to go shopping for them less. I have a few heels, but that was for a few weddings. Those suckers got kicked off real quick. I mostly have boots, sandals, and tennis shoes. Hell, I even wore flats for my wedding.

  10. I'm kind of a shoe girl in remission. I used to have shoes galore! Now, I prefer to splurge on quality over quantity. I have my basics for the 9-5 and some statement heels for date nights and fancy events. My new weakness is a good riding boot or flat! I just LOVE them :)

  11. I would LOVE to be a shoe person! I'm a practical person but I would like to step out of that a bit. I feel like if I wore stilettos right now it just wouldn't be conducive to my current lifestyle. Now, of course I may feel sexy as all hell in them or I may feel like a fake *trying* to stand in them. :)
I have a pretty solid collection of chanclas (flip flops). :D
Thanks for joining us, sweet lady!
    XOXO
