Do you ever feel like you could be doing more? I don't mean just adding mindless activities to your already packed schedule. But I mean, doing more to make a difference? To make the world a better place? To help others? Lately, I've been feeling this ache to do SOMETHING.
I'm so blessed to be surrounded by some amazing women who are leaving their marks on the world. They inspire me to follow in their footsteps and do the same. To get off my ass, and stop just letting life pass me by, but to truly do something to contribute.
Let's meet some of these lovely ladies:
ASHLEY is the founder and visionary behind #fireworkpeople, a community for women who want to change the world. She and her team spread encouragement, love, kindness, creativity, and more. Founded in August 2014, #fireworkpeople resonates with so many women across the globe and the community is now over 1,500+ people strong. And that's because Ashley's main message is this: OWN YOUR FIRE. Whatever it is that's inside of you - your passion, your reason for being, your calling - you have to pursue it. You have to kick butt and take names and make fear and self-doubt melt away. I am SO inspired whenever I hear her speak, I get fired up and want to take over the world.
ANASTASIA created the #ProjectPositive and Fearless Body Confidence movements to help all women learn to love who they are. She aims to put a stop to the negativity, self-doubt, and body-bashing that is prevalent in our culture. She spreads joy and positivity every single day and she's the sweetest person, to boot. Every time I read her words, I just want to give her a standing ovation! She's lucky that she's halfway across the world from me, or else she would be subjected to my daily hugs. :)
STEPHANIE is an amazing friend. She makes me smile with her kindness. She is an advocate against domestic violence and it's an issue that is close to her heart. She also just recently raised over $2,300 for childhood cancer research through St. Baldrick's and shaved her head because she saw how a co-worker's son was affected by the disease. She's a beautiful person, inside and out and she makes me want to get out there and make a difference!!!
What an amazing group of women, am I right? I get so fired up with purpose when I talk to them. I want to make a difference. I want to DO SOMETHING. More on that in the near future.
"The purpose of life is to contribute in
some way to making things better."
- Robert F. Kennedy
