Write or Die Wednesdays

Last week we wrote about our passions, and it was so much fun reading everyone's passions from writing to inspiring others to kids & sports and more! It was so hard picking just one weekly featured writer when everyone equally shared their hearts. Because of this, we are re-sharing everyone's post!

Kasey at the Bat
How to Make a Life
How I Roll
The Chronicles of Chaos
Shelly's Cabaret

This week's prompt is the following: What will be your legacy?

Happy writing!

*****************

This is a hard one for me because to be honest, thinking about my legacy ultimately leads me to thinking about my death. My thoughts on this subject tend to get overly morbid if I dwell on it too long. I mean, it's kind of mind-blowing to think that, no matter your religious or spiritual beliefs, you will eventually cease to exist on this Earth. And obviously, that's never going to happen to me because I'm going to become a vampire and live forever. *slow blink*

OK, fine, let's say this immortality thing doesn't work out. So, what will be my legacy??? How do I want to be remembered? What will I pass down to my kids and grandchildren and great-grandchildren?

I hope to leave behind a literary legacy. You knew I was going to say that, right? Writing has been a shining light in my life and I would hope to pass that on in some form. Hopefully, a book or three. ;) But not just writing. I want to also pass on a love of learning. Soak up everything you can. Strive to learn new things.

I hope to leave behind a legacy of love. For my boys: That no matter what happens or where life takes them, they know that I loved them with every fiber of my being, every ounce of will and energy that I have. For my husband: That our love changed my life and saved me time and time again.

It may not sound like much, but these things are extremely important to me. I'm a simple person and I don't expect much, but if I can pass those things on, I'd die a happy lady.

But I'd totally invite a vampire into my house to bite the shizzle out of me, so hit me up if you know any.

What will be YOUR legacy?

  1. One of the many things I love about this link up is the direction that everyone takes the prompt. I have no doubt you will leave these things because you already are.

  2. I totally support the vampire idea, or maybe we could find that tree from Tuck Everlasting? I also think that's a great legacy to leave behind, if more people focused on that legacy of love + acceptance, the world would be a much better place.

  3. I totally just cried about what you said about your boys and your hubs.
And if you're gonna vamp out on me, at least let me in on it, sheesh!

I'm sure you will leave all of that behind and much, much more. (((hugs)))
