Write it Down: Confessions from a Notebook Junkie

Confessions from a Notebook Junkie

Hi, my name is Mia and I am addicted to notebooks. What kind of notebooks, you ask? Well, all of them. Spiral notebooks (single and multiple subject), composition notebooks, journals, notepads, the list goes on.

Maybook; notebooks
It's a serious problem. Not really. I love notebooks and always will. There's nothing better than the promise of blank pages! I can sit and write for hours. All of the notebooks pictured here are still blank, but at present time, I have 5 journals that I am currently using. One is a gratitude journal, another is a daily journal, a catch-all miscellaneous creative writing journal, a blog journal, and a Christmas planner journal. My hubby shakes his head at me when he sees me toting my stack of notebooks around.

Even though I have plenty of journals in my stash, I still can't resist the pull of the office supply section at Target or Walmart. Especially now right after back to school season. I picked up a couple of notebooks yesterday at Target for 6 cents. Yes, SIX cents. They were marked down 70% off. I mean, who can resist???!  Sometimes my son will ask, in complete exasperation, "Mommm! Are we going to look at those books again?" Yes, my love. Yes, we are.

And let's not even talk about my addiction to colorful pens and my obsessive need to organize them by color.

colorful pens

That's a story for another day.

Do you have a notebook/pen obsession like me?

  2. Obsess much? (Said like ace Ventura)
LOL forever! Office supplies are my crack. I love the new sharpie pens that just came out, they were a dollar at target! I'm a chronic list maker, so I don't use my phone for my to do list normally, it goes in my at a glance calendar that I'm obsessed with. Nice to meet a fellow pen whore like myself!

  5. I'm right there with you, home skillet. I was just at Target yesterday and bought a new pack of pens and one notebook. All the while I'm thinking, "You don't need anymore of these, V!"

Office supply stores are a writer's paradise :).

  6. I think we are twins. One can never have enough journals. I have several different types and have to stop myself from buying more. (although I purchased two at Target last night)

  7. You're not alone! I have six journals going at once, a box full of old ones, and two desk drawers with new ones. :-)

  8. I wouldn't have said I have a notebook obsession, but does the fact that I currently have about 4 notebooks going for journals and stuff say otherwise? lol

  10. six cents! And I thought my husband knew how to find deals! Good work!
I do love a good notebook, but I think I identify more with the pens. I love colored ink. My journals, to do lists, cards, etc are like the rainbow. It's actually a joke with the other girls in my Bible study that I supply the pens. They all have their favorite colored ones to use.
Came over from the link up!

  11. I love, love, love a good notebook. I have a few empty ones but a couple weeks ago, my journal was a few pages from finishing, I marched myself to Marshall's and got a new green leather bound one. I was so happy for a REASON to notebook-shop.
If I ever found a journal for six cents, you best believe I would buy one in every color. 😀
