5 TV Shows That Need to Make a Comeback

Since we can all agree that I have no life, I think it's safe to say that I'm a bit addicted to TV.  There are so many shows that are no longer on TV that I really miss!  Sometimes, you wonder why network execs get paid so much money, when they obviously don't know diddly about what the average person (aka me) really wants to watch.

So, I give you 5 TV shows that need to make a comeback:

1)  ALF.
I mean, do I  really need to say more? When I was a kid, I could watch it all day every day.  I cried when it ended. Tell me who in their right mind wouldn't want to watch this again? I'd buy a dozen cats for ALF to snack on. haha. jk.  Maybe!

2)  Queer as Folk.
You're soooo lying if you tell me you weren't in love with Brian Kinney (Gale Harold), no matter that he was gay.  I hated the stupid ending to that show. It almost felt rushed to me, like they didn't know how to end it, so they just gave up and didn't really write an ending.  Bring it back!!! I have to see what Brian is up to! And he better be happy, dang it! The show is about a group of gay friends living in Pittsburgh.  The show tackles so many different issues - love, friendship, gay/lesbian culture/stereotypes, AIDS, substance abuse, you name it. Serious stuff, but yet, it still manages to be funny. The show really draws you in and makes you care about these amazing characters.

3)  Young Americans
5 words:  Ian Somerhalder and Katherine Moennig.  I really liked this show! I wish they would have given it a chance beyond the first season.  Of course, the actors are now a little too old to play high schoolers.  But I don't care! I wanna know what happens!!! And I can ignore the fact that Kate Bosworth was in it, bleck. But basically, Katherine Moennig's character, Jacqueline pretends to be a boy (Jake) and gets into this elite summer prep academy.  She is room mates with Ian Sommerhalder's character, Hamilton, and she falls for him but of course can't say anything because she's supposed to be a boy.  BUT, Hamilton starts to have feelings for Jake and begins to wonder if he's gay when "Jake" finally reveals the truth.

4)  Over There
Another one-season show. Come on, people! You've gotta give a show at least 2 seasons and give it a chance. Booo.  It was a series about soldiers (male and female) deployed to Iraq and shows how deployment affects each soldier differently. One Private loses his leg and is shipped home and doesn't really know how to cope with being injured and being at home, so much of his identity was being a soldier.  Another soldier finds out his wife was cheating on him. Another soldier goes AWOL because she misses her son. It was just an absolutely brilliant show. And it doesn't hurt that Erik Palladino is in it. #babealert

5)  Models, Inc.
Holy moly.  This show was actually a spinoff of Melrose Place.  It was obviously about a modeling company.  In true Fox fashion, there was no end to the drama.  Somebody gets shot a wedding.  A model is kidnapped and wakes up in Central America... I mean, just wow. I really think that it would have become a classic like Melrose Place if only it wasn't cancelled.

So there you have it.  Did any of your shows make the list?

What shows would you bring back if you could?

Do You Want Me to Turn This Car Around?

Oh man.  Today was the day from you-know-where.  I mean, first of all, this chick has been visiting Cramp City all week, need-I-say-more.  So I already was not in the best of moods.  And then aliens decided to inhabit the bodies of my usually-sweet kids and turn them into these whining, crying, completely disobedient little people.

Oy vey.  So all of this was already going on at like 8am this morning.  And we desperately needed to go to the grocery store because we have nothing to eat except a half a bag of grapes and some Greek yogurt (which I've recently discovered that I love Oikos, but cannot stomach Chobani! Does anybody else feel this way? OK, sorry, I digress).

The whole car ride to the store was filled with tears and whining and yelling.  It was not pretty.  We get out of the car, walk into the grocery store, and I start putting Will in the cart.  And he and Dom both are just crying and whining, for no reason at all, and I just had this moment of thinking "I NEED TO GET OUT OF HERE NOW."

I turned to Charlie and said, "I cannot do this today. I can't. We need to go home." And he looked at me for a second and was like "Just put Will in the cart." And I said, "No, we are going home. I am not doing this today." And I think I may have scared him a little bit, haha, but he didn't ask any questions or say anything else, he just helped me get the kids back in the car.

Dear aliens, please return my children to me.  Another day like today and I may need to take up day drinking.  Again.

Signed,
A hungry and cranky blogger.

Just Throw in the Towel...

Sigh.  So, you know how as you get older, people will say "you know you're old when..." and then they'll give a few different reasons. Like, when the thought of going drinking at the club makes you exhausted instead of excited.  Or your idea of a vacation is just to be left alone for 5 minutes.  Or you start getting these aches and pains that you never got before.  Or you start saying those cringe-worthy things to your kids that your parents used to say to you (barf).

Or you get your first gray hair.  Well, you guys, my life is OVER... wanna know why? Because I did find my first gray hair.  No big deal, you say? Well, I'm not talking about on my head... I'm talking about...

DOWN THERE!!

Sorry hubs, you're my "in case of emergency" and this was TOTALLY an emergency!

What the crap, people???? I'm sure I've vaguely heard that this happens to people, or whatever, but surely... SURELY it would never happen to me, right?  I mean... when you think it's a piece of lint or a thread from your undies or something and you try to brush it off.. and then realize it's friggin' attached to your body?!!?

HOLY BABY JESUS.  I just wanted to cry.  I mean, think about it.  This is the beginning of the end.  If you get gray hairs on your head, you could certainly dye your hair. If you start getting some fine lines and wrinkles, you could always try anti-aging creme or botox, even. But what are you supposed to do with decrepit, down-there hairs??? Sure, plucking could be a short-term solution.  But when there gets to be more salt than there is pepper... oh Lordy.

It's just a moldy rock, people, relax.

It sucks, that's how. Thanks for asking.

Please somebody come sympathize with me and tell me it will be OK!

Alright, enough bitterness for one evening. ;) I've teamed up with my buddy Jo from Jo, My Gosh! and friends for a pretty awesome giveaway. Enter below. Good luck!
