No Warm and Fuzzies

Do you ever hear so many great things about working with a company... and then when you work with them, you kinda feel let down? That happened to me last month. 



I was approached by the PR folks at eShakti about doing a product review for one of their dresses.  I was ecstatic! Not only had I heard such amazing things, but I also needed a dress for Dom's pre-school graduation. So of course, I jumped on board.  



They can customize the dresses on their website to your exact liking. Custom measurements, no problem. Want capped sleeves instead of strapless? They can do that, too.  Want to cover your knees, or maybe you want to show some skin? They've got you covered. Playing around with the different options is the fun part!

Let me start by saying that I have no complaints whatsoever about the dress itself - it is EXACTLY as I ordered it and the shipping was quick as well.  The issues came after I contacted the PR department to let them know I was ready to post my review and to obtain a promo code for you lovely readers. And I never heard anything. I sent email after email. I tweeted them. I emailed again.  Nothing. 



So, I would give their dress 5 stars, and I would give their PR department 0 stars. But as a customer, and not a blogger, you shouldn't have any problems.

    Just ordered with eshakti for the first time, and I've got to day I was a little disappointed by the customer service too... I didn't hear anything back from them until 3 days after I ordered my items! However, they did turn out great...too bad the customer service isn't as awesome as the clothes!

  3. That dress looks great on you! I love how the back is plain black instead of patterning the whole way through.

    I've been thinking about contacting them to do a review & product trial...I'm not sure I will be now though! Thanks for giving an HONEST and thoughtful review of the customer service portion of the company. To me, customer service is a giant aspect of whether or not I do business with a particular company!

  4. I like seeing honest reviews like this! I know eshakti connects with a lot of bloggers, they haven't gotten to me yet though lol. I'll remember this for if/when they do. I've had some of this same experience with another kids clothing company...they contacted me to review a flower girl dress and I sent my order and everything...and never heard back from them. They said they'd let me know when the dress shipped out. That was a month ago. It's disappointing when this happens!

    But I love that dress on you, anyway! :)

  6. Love your honest review. I had this problem with a company as well. It was SOO frustrating. The person who contacted me and was my contact throughout the whole process (it was a giveaway)was very quick to respond to all of my questions and was very thorough all the way up until the winner was chosen and then NOTHING. I was so mad because I advertised their product and the winner was chosen but he would not respond back to me. This was my first giveaway BTW so I was worried at how this would look on me. I emailed the company numerous times to finally get a half ass response. I was so frustrated and I let them know that I would never work with them again.

  7. yup, like Breenah said above, I had problems with their customer service! and like Kera above I'm still waiting on a girls' dress I was asked to review and the guy (girl?) who contacted me about it has no clue if/when it is going to ship!

  11. The dress is so lovely! I've definitely been disappointed by some companies lately. I've been contacted about doing reviews or giveaways and then just never hear back. It's ridiculous. If you don't have time to host a giveaway, don't contact me and waste my time!

  12. Your dress looks adorable! I've worked with eShakti twice now, but I had absolutely no response from them when I had an issue with ordering the second time. I eventually did get the dress, but they never replied to my emails/tweets, which was disappointing.

  14. I had that issue with Shabby Apple - they contacted me about doing a giveaway, then I did one and heard nothing. And they didn't contact my winner for over a week.

    That being said, I love the dress!

  17. cute dress! and wow im surprised that they never replied back to your many attempts! so weird! I can slightly see the disappointment though because just yesterday I called their customer service # twice only to be directed to leave a voicemail which i have done in the past and they didn't reply in a timely enough fashion lol..so i kept trying before i could actually speak w/someone!

    they missed out on potential customers man!
