I'm feeling very blessed. You wanna know why? I got to have lunch with 8 of my favoritest bloggers this past Saturday at PF Changs. It was such a wonderful experience. I have to tell you that I was a tiny bit nervous at first... because sometimes, when you get a semi-large group of women together, there could potentially be a little bit of drama or personalities that perhaps don't mesh very well.
But I can tell you there was NONE of that. These ladies were so sweet, funny, down-to-earth, genuine, relatable, and friggin' AWESOME. We ended up staying and chatting and laughing long after our meal was over.
So, who ARE these amazing women? Well, I'm glad you asked!
No idea what I'm doing with my mouth.
Krystle and Melanie. These ladies are part of the reason I started blogging - they so inspired me with their beautiful photos and their stories of their every day lives... I kept thinking "I wanna do that, too!" So if you like my blog, then you can go ahead and thank them. And if you hate it.. well.. then I guess you know who to pinch. ;)
Kidding, of course. Please don't pinch them!! We all actually went to high school together and I feel like they're 2 of my partners in crime now. Krystle just had her 3rd child a mere 6 months ago and she already looks flippin amazing. I won't tell you what size jeans she can fit into now, because a lady never tells, but hot dayum, woman. Whatever you're doing, I need to do it, too, because I want to wear those size pants again! haha. Plus, she's awesome, because she puts up with my cyber stalking... I can only imagine what her FB/Instagram alerts look like.. "Mia liked your photo, Mia liked your link, Mia liked your EVERYTHING!" ;)
Melanie is so freakin' funny. I love her because she's up for anything. I jokingly said "not it" to driving us to the meetup and she was like "OK, I'll drive!" Wait... you're supposed to at least put up a little fight! haha. Plus, she didn't laugh at me when I smashed into the bathroom door at the restaurant, because apparently I'm not able to tell the difference between pushing and pulling. OK, she might have laughed a little bit, but she promised not to tell anyone. ;)
Ladies, thanks for letting me tag along with you all and be the creeper in the backseat.
Erica and Lindsay. They are best friends IRL, how cool is that? Erica actually came up with the idea for us to meet for coffee... and then our meetup idea kind of spiraled from there. She's so gorgeous, with her fiery red hair and beautiful skin, if I didn't already love her, I'd hate her! haha. :) Kidding. We both share a genuine love of books and I love reading her reviews. Plus, she's such a classy lady. Our waitress was rude to her a couple of times (for NO reason, seriously!) and Erica just kept her cool with her beautiful smile and didn't even let it phase her!
And Lindsay... the glowing, beautiful mama-to-be! So sweet and soft-spoken with her adorable southern accent. She is one of those people who you just know would give you the coat off her back if you needed it. I love reading her blog and seeing what her and her sweet hubby are up to. She's one of those people that you feel like you could talk to for hours and not feel awkward or run out of things to say. I'm seriously so happy to have met her!
Oh April, you cutie patootie. April is one of the first foodie bloggers I started following. I love her recipes and restaurant reviews. It cracks me up, because I pretty much force her to be my bloggy friend by bothering her all the time on her blog/Twitter/Instagram, haha. You WILL be my friend, and you WILL like it. :) Kidding! She is so sweet and didn't even make fun of me for being a total creeper and waving like Forrest Gump when she first walked into the restaurant. What can I say, I was so excited to see her! :) Plus, she totally understands that it's important to us bloggers for our significant others/spouses to read our blogs. I mean, hello, Charlie... this means YOU. :)
I didn't get individual photos of Sarah and Caitlin, booooo, I suck, but aren't they beautiful???
Caitlin is such a sweet girl! I think she's such a great writer, her blog posts always draw me in! Plus, she's so cute... she was telling us about how she ended up moving to our area from Ohio, and mentioned a breakup after moving here, and I was like "awwwww" and she said "oh no! That was so 2 years ago!" which completely cracked me up and I knew she was even more awesome, if that's possible, than I thought she was already.
Sarah... oh Sarah. Where do I even start? You're so fabulous. I know I keep calling you that, but it SO fits. :) Sarah who was a few minutes late (because she, like the wonderful mother that she is, needed to take care of her daughter and get her situated before she left for lunch), came in just looking so striking in her yellow coat and her dark gorgeous hair. I wanted to jump up and ask for her autograph! :) She is also a beautiful, glowing mama-to-be, yayyy! And her emails always make me laugh - she already "gets" me and I love her for it.
Oh man... I know you're all waiting for it...
BOOM! There she is... my Abbey cakes! Words can't even describe how awesome it was to meet her in person. We have some epic tweet and email convos that always make me laugh, sometimes until I cry. It's my mission in life to creep her out, but yet, still have her agree to be my friend. It's a fine line, people, but we walk it every day.
When she walked in, I felt like I was meeting a celebrity! I mean, I've only ever seen her on the computer... and then she was there... and I thought to myself - HOLY CRAP.. she's REAL! :) It already felt like we'd known each other for years. I adore her. And she pretty much loves/hates me.
Which is why she makes this face at me. You'd think I'd be crying, but I'm behind the camera wiggling my eyebrows at her. So, you know.. it all evens out.
There you have it folks... my 8 new best friends. I cannot wait to meet up with you guys again... I think next time will be even MORE fun since we got all the intros and first meetup jitters out of the way. So, let the craziness begin!
