TAG, You're it!

My lovely friend Krystle from Life Revolves Around Them has tagged me for a little Christmas Q+A (you can read Krystle's answers here).  This tag apparently all started at Raising Reagan and has made its way around the blogosphere. :) I'm happy to participate!

1. What makes Christmas such a special holiday for you and your family?

Oh my goodness! I love everything about Christmas! The weather, spending quality time with family, seeing the kids' excitement at the lights and decorations.  It's such a great time of year. :)

2. Were you told the truth about Santa Claus by your parents or did you find out another way? And..do you plan on lying to your kids (if you have them or plan on having them)? Oh yes…I went there.

I fervently believed in Santa Claus as a kid until one year, I woke up and heard some noises in our living room on Christmas Eve and I ran out to see if it was Santa and saw my mom and step-dad wrapping presents. I didn't think anything of it at first, until the next morning, when those same presents were marked from Santa. Booooo. :)

Of course, Dom talks about Santa all the time, even when it's not Christmas, lol. I really think the magic of Christmas has to include Santa! It only lasts a short while and I want my kids to experience it before they get old enough to catch on. :)

3. Real tree or Fake tree?

Fake is such a negative term.  I prefer artificial. Haha. Charlie always grew up with real trees, but I really don't like the mess, and having to dispose of it after Christmas. I like the pre-lit ones so I don't have to mess with tangled strings of light.  Hey, I'm very efficient, OK? ;)

4. Do you open presents on Christmas morning, Christmas Eve or both?

We usually do both.  We'll usually spend Christmas Eve with Charlie's family opening presents, and then I'll spend time with my dad on Christmas day and we'll open more presents then.

5. What is your favorite Christmas movie to watch? Favorite Christmas song to sing or listen to? ( I know…technically two questions)

My favorite Christmas movie is The Grinch. I adore it - the music, the animation, it's just a great movie.  I need to get it on DVD for the boys so they can enjoy it, too.

And my favorite Christmas song is All I Want for Christmas by Mariah Carey. What? Don't judge me. It's a classic. ;)

OK, so now I'm tagging these lovely bloggers for the next round:

Tabby @ Shipwrecked on Fabulous Island
Carrie @ Frugal Foodie Mama
Pamela @ Pamela's Heavenly Treats
Jen @ That is What She Read
Lindsay @ From Nanny to Family

Tis the Season! :) Ciao!

  5. I agree. Real trees are too much hassle, plus you can't have them up for very long!!
